Sure, the 1970’s were cool with Jeffery’s. So were the 1980’s and 1990’s. But, at some point things start to slow down. I hadn’t stopped by to dine in quite some time (and didn’t have any plans to). Then came Restaurant Week. Begrudgingly, I was dragged in. I’m glad I was. New Chef Deegan McClung tore down the old menu and replaced it with a creative and clever list of dishes. (Original Review here.)
I would order more salads if there were more out there like Jeffery’s Thumbalina Salad: Marinated Carrots, Avocado, Romaine, Almonds and Feta, dressed with a toasted Dill Seed-Lemon Vinaigrette. The menu is full of gulf seafood, local vegetables and genius cheese tray pairings. Best New Old Favorite.
I’ve decided that Jeffrey’s has my favorite Happy Hour in town. My New Year’s resolution is to go more often.
I at Jeffrey’s right now, I broke in a few minutes ago. It’s quiet and dark in here. I like to think of this as a pre-happy hour (also known as a pre-arrested).
