Tragic

A random act of violence from Mother Nature brought the Barr Mansion ballroom to the ground this week.

The fire that happened early morning of June 9, 2010 was contained to the Ballroom structure and has not touched the Mansion or its grounds. We are doing everything possible to ensure our clients’ upcoming events are just as memorable and beautiful as originally planned. Engineers are presently on site to determine what remains can be salvaged and are already designing and securing a new barn structure. Additionally crews are on the grounds clearing debris and ensuring that the landscape is aesthetically pleasing. We are also currently constructing a fully functional structure complete with flooring, air-conditioning, fabric draping and professional lighting that will serve in lieu of the Ballroom during the construction process. All previously planned events for this weekend will go on as intended.

I am proud to have visited the ballroom many times for special events. It will live on in my memory as a unique space and though I am sad, I know that Barr Mansion will build a structure its equal. I wish the best of luck to Barr Mansion. I look forward to many more celebrations.
