UPDATE: Sustainable Food Policy Board

The first few meetings of the Sustainable Food Policy Board were a little hard for me to sit through, but they had their legs firmly under them now. A lot of good ground was covered at this month’s meeting. A big shout out to the Chair, Marla Camp, for managing the clock with an iron fist (they almost got done inside their scheduled time).

UPDATE: Change Is Coming (Just Later)

Sometimes all you need are ice tongs and a friend who can keep a secret. Other times, a change in location are needed. The Austin Farmers’ Market is moving approximately 30 feet to the North of their previous location. The newly restored Republic Square Park will be their new home starting this Saturday the 16th. If you need greens, fish or sausage today, hit the Triangle today between 3pm – 7pm.

Food Production and Business Committee: Identify issues, research and make policy recommendations related to SFPB’s mission and charges relating to food production and the local economy. Food Access and Wellness Committee: Identify issues, research and make policy recommendations related to SFPB’s mission and charges relating to food access and wellness. Executive Committee: Review meeting agendas, plan and manage SFPB activities.
