Spreading the Love

I just wanted to let everyone know, the backyard pizza oven project has evolved into a catering business. Please help me in welcoming Bola Pizza into existence. Our dearly departed dog Bola was our official crust tester. Over the years, he never missed an opportunity to give me his impressions on how my crust was progressing. Usually his response was “more”!

Bola Pizza is a private event only catering company servicing the greater Austin area. More info can be had at www.BolaPizza.com

Event: Artisan Bistro Cooking Class with Con Olio

Want to learn more about Morocco and Tunisia by cooking? Create Tagine, Couscous and other favorites at the North African themed cooking class at Artisan Bistro. The class is on Oct. 19th, at 6pm at Artisan Bistro in Lakeway. They are partnering for this event with Con Olio Oils and Vinegars.

If you haven’t eaten there yet, Artisan Bristro is fantastic. Refreshingly classic French bistro menu. Check out more cooking classes and happenings in our Events Calendar.

Haunted Gourds

When I feel like a frolic in the gourd fields, I head to Marble Falls. Actually, just past Marble Falls. Past the stone quarry, then make a right and go a little farther till I see a line of 100 or so cars. BINGO! I’m at Sweet Berry Farm!

I counted, and they have approximately one krazillion pumpkins. Gray ones, pink ones, crooked ones, spooky ones and ones that are orange, (deep breath..) hay rides, food, face paint, gift shop, sunshine and love. If you don’t feel up to the trek, the church at Burnet and 2222 has some, too.

Sweet Berry Farm : 1801 FM 1980 Marble Falls, Texas
Open through November 14 on Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat from 8:30am to 5:30pm, Sundays 1pm - 5pm

St. John’s United Methodist Church : 2140 Allandale Rd. Austin, TX
Open Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat from 10 -7pm, Tues, Thurs from 3-7pm, Sunday 12 - 6pm
