Lately I don’t have time to do all the things that I would like too. I have many obligations. Between Arbitrage Trading, Jai Alai practice and Civil War reenactments, my day just slips away.
Canning seems like the last thing I can ever make time for. Good thing Stephanie of Confituras is cooking up the good stuff. I swooned for her Pickled Blueberries. Below is what is available at this week’s market.
ginger pear preserves - kefir pears from lightsey farms preserved with fresh and crystallized gingers and fresh lime
homegrown tomato jam - phoenix tomatoes from blanco, brown sugar, aged balsamic vinegar, and fresh thyme
cardamom apple butter - apples from love creek orchards in medina. infused with cardamom and cinnamon
texas fig preserves - texas everbearing figs from lightsey farms infused with bay leaves, cottonwood honey from manor, and white balsamic vinegar
lavender peach butter - lavender-scented, creamy peach butter
pickled peaches - cloves, allspice, cinnamon mingling with hill country peaches from rocky hill orchards
please hold on to those jars! in the spirit of conservation, i will gladly sanitize and sterilize them for reuse. for every 10 jars you return, you will receive a free 4 ounce jar of jam! you are welcome to return them whenever you like-i will happily keep track of your return deposit for you.
