The indispensable periodical that is the Austin Chronicle has been peeking at the Austin Food Journal! (slick rhyming, huh?) The Austin Food Journal just landed on their list of top food blogs.

2009: Stick A Fork In It
Thanks for reading my food ramblings this year. 2009 was huge. I’m stuffed. Looking forward to a fork full of 2010. As a parting gift, how about a side of Julia Child, Patron Saint of American cooking. Happy New Year.
Bouzy Wine
Is this where we got the phrase “Booze”? I was hitting the bubbles on Christmas day and took a look at the label: a Bouzy (France). What the hell is that?! Is the bottle mocking me? Making fun of the French? Neither one would be a first.
Anthony Cooks Coke
It’s a tough job, isn’t it? Thank god we have Mr. Bourdain. With the blight that is now the Food Network, it’s nice to have someone on the tube that is still talking straight, fighting the good fight. Sure, he hasn’t been in front of a stove in quite some time, but he is still churning coin in the food business bringing us food trends from the far reaches. Roasting a stockpile of confiscated cocaine in Panama? Sure. (Why don’t I have this job?) New season of No Reservations starts January 11, 2010. Keep your nose to the grindstone Anthony.
New Edible Austin
Just picked up the new Edible Austin. It’s like a Christmas present early. Except, I opened it way too early and the guy who handed it to me didn’t smell like Santa. Good reading was inside, though: Raw Milk, Dai Due, Asti, local lamb, wine and more. Pick it up at all the usual places.
Clown Boy
He won a reality show. That should have been the end of him, but the Food Network is trying to mine the Nascar market. There is so much money in watching guys ‘go fast and turn left’ that they are shoe horning this guy in.
