Salad Talk

Not sure if it is the weather or the season (those are two distinctly differently things in Texas), but at the moment, salads are hitting the spot. Thai Cabbage salad, Panzanella, and this 1980’s throwback ode to cultural appropriation Taco Salad.

I bought at small package of Piment d’Espelette. It was expensive. When I say that, what I mean is that it cost a little less than a kilo of cocaine. It was fun to try and I am sure there is some very specific circumstances that it would come in very handy. I just can’t think of one. So I used about $143 worth of it to season these beans.

Crispy, salty, fatty fried tortilla crisps. Adds a nice crunch component to the salad and they are very snackable. Great substitute for Fritos and the like. They keep well in the fridge. Plus, you will have them ready to go for Migas!
