For the uninformed, Les Dames d’Escoffier is a world-wide philanthropic society of professional women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage, and hospitality. The Austin Chapter is made up of a diverse group of chefs, winemakers, restaurateurs, writers, and many other food professionals dedicated to giving back to their community.
And, I know what you are saying, “that’s rad, how can I help?!” Lucky for you, they are having their first online food fight. Thirty ‘unique food and wine experiences’ will be available to the highest bidder. All proceeds going to d’Escoffier Austin scholarship program. Here are some of the items up for bid:
- Austin Style! BBQ, Beer & Live Music – A VIP Evening at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q. A VIP experience with dinner for four and tickets to a live music show of your choice with seats on the VIP patio for prime viewing of Stubb’s downtown stage.
- Oscar Party, Y’all. A customized Oscar Party for 10 in your home on Oscar Night (March 7), complete with red carpet, champagne and hors d’oeuvres provided by Chef Quincy Erickson of Fete Accompli and Chef Gina Burchenal of Gina’s Kitchen.
- Artisan Cheese Getaway for two in Southern Oregon at the Rogue Creamery, which just won Best in Show at this summer’s American Cheese Society competition, held in Austin. For two nights, you’ll stay in the Rogue Creamery cottage, built in 1935, and enjoy special cheese-and-wine tours and tastings.
- Thelma & Louise Big Bend Weekend at the Gage Hotel and Spa. A two-night stay at the historic Gage Hotel, spa treatments at the hotel’s Desert Moon Spa and dinner for two under the stars at the Gage’s Café Cenizo.
- Holiday Cookie Party at Texas Culinary Academy. Pastry Chef Aimee Olson will treat you to a private, hands-on cookie class for 10.
