Now, that is it officially winter in Austin (don’t hold me to that), I can get back into tea mode. It was hard for a while there. It’s no fun drinking tea while you are sweating.
I finally found a white tea that I like, White Blueberry from Zhi Tea. They are an Austin company specializing in online sales, but they do have a storefront over near Boggy Creek Farm. The White Blueberry is very subtle. And, it’s not bitter (as long as you don’t go crazy with the steeping). The bitter thing kills me. I under steep black teas also, just to guard against it. I like Zhi’s packaging. Besides looking cool, the containers seal well and they are opaque, so light won’t degrade the tea leaves. Cool.
Update: You can get Zhi ice tea at Terra Burger and Whole Foods will be selling their loose teas soon.
