Sexy looking, huh? Well, just you wait. You are looking at the new home of Kendall and John Antonelli’s Hyde Park cheese shop. The idea started where most do, on a beach in Granada. Two years ago, on their honeymoon, John questioned his CPA career path. Since starting a Grilled Cheese Club in college, cheese has always been on his mind. The ground work for the business began with a cheese boot camp at Murray’s in New York, then Kerbey Lane in Austin and finally an internship in France.
The store should be a haven for cheese lovers. John says that the focus will be on cheese, but they will have other specialty items. “A handpicked selection of cheese from around the word with a focus on new American products. Everything from local Artisans (Pure Luck, Cheesy Girl) to Kraft (Queso!) along with charcuterie, honeys, olive oil, wine and beer that pairs with them.” All the cheese will be available to sample, so you will only have to lay your green down for what you like.
They hope to have doors open in February. Tentative hours are Tuesday – Sunday: 11am – 7pm.
