It Is Officially Summer

Summer Tacos

Usually I think of Summer time as Grilling time, but they might need to put a warning on that label. Upon heating my cast iron grill up to 165 degrees, the ambient temperature was but 4 degrees below it. Let me do the math for you: It’s HOT, hoTT. I looked around for an emoticon for this temperature range and was told that the kids hadn’t thought of one yet.

Hot Coals

The image above is an illustration of something that is hot. Just for a reference point, yesterday afternoon was so hot, I put my hands into this fire just to cool down. No lie. Just ask any politician (or fourth grader) I know.

Scalded Green Onions

I stole this from Mission Street Food. Great idea to get more flavor into a basic condiment.

Magic Mix

Char the crap out of scallions and mix with sour cream. The more Char to cream ratio the better. Tell your friends it was much more complicated.

Flap Serloin

Central Market Sirloin flap: bang for your buck. Pictured here in a cozy relationship with B&B Charcoal. I’ll assure you, all the rumors are true.

Cole Slaw

Standard issue Cole Slaw. That’s funny. I just realized that the “cole” in slaw and the “coal” in charcoal are two different things that sound the same. Wonder why that is? It must be like desert and dessert. I use to think those were spelled same (maybe, because for the the most part, they end up that way).
