Knives are kind of like the last people to leave your party, you don’t realize they’re dull till it’s too late. I have the electric sharpener, the manual sharpener, the late night TV “…and if you buy it now, you’ll receive…” sharpener and a steel. I have had the most luck with the steel, but when I’m not paying attention, I do more harm than good. I have been hitting up the place on SOBER (South Burnet Rd.), the Knife Sharpest. They aren’t that expensive and they can grind while you wait. You can spend that quality time perusing their collection of Chinese throwing stars and Ninja swords.
Thanks for posting where you get yours sharpened. Mine are in definite need of a sharpening but I didn’t want to take them to a place like Sur La Table or Williams-Sonoma because I wasn’t sure how good of a job they would do.
FYI: they stopped taking credit cards, so it’s just cash or check.
