Eat Next To A Fireplace: Siena Ristorante Toscano

This is a big one. I should have measured it, but I’m pretty sure you could park a car in it. I have been a fan of Siena for some time. Great bar, food and service. It’s just a skip down 2222 from MoPac, at 360. Plenty of seating by the fireplace in the Bar, and since there is no backside of the fireplace, full dinner seating on the other side of the flaming logs. It was a bit startling to see at first, what appeared to be people eating dinner inside a roaring fire pit, but I got use to it. Very Dantesque.

This Sounds Like A Plan

It’s better to focus on crowd control on a night like this. University of Texas Longhorns in the National Championships tonight against, um.. ah.. that other team. If you are in the kitchen, mincing shallots for the Seven Layer, you might miss something important in the living room. Lucky for us, Asti and FINO are here tonight to help…

Eat Next To A Fireplace: Moonshine

It’s cold. But, you have to keep eating. So, what’s better than eating next to a fireplace? If your answer is ‘nothing’, you are correct. Moonshine has some of the best fireplaces in town. That’s right, more than one. Their outside bar is one of the coziest spots in town right now. The structure that houses their outdoor bar is one of the oldest in Austin. The original fireplace has been converted to gas, so no need to worry about popping and hissing. Cocktails and open flames are a match made in heaven.
